Five Rules For Getting The Best Deal
Negotiation has always been considered to be an art. However, all of us can benefit from learning good negotiation skills to save money. Here are five rules of thumb when negotiating for almost any service. Remember, it never hurts to ask for a discount. How you ask that will make the difference!

1. Negotiate with the boss, not the staff. With the contractor/owner, not the paid employee. You will get heard when you go to the top
2. Know your bottom line, what you are willing to pay before you start talking
3. Offer to pay in cash instead of credit, if you have the cash you will generally get a discount
4. Barter for something that someone else wants from you. Got a skill that would help another? Trade services to get what you both want
5. Never undercut someone’s services to where you offend them. Always respect the other party

Ever wonder how you are going to finance that rehab? Listen in as Ian Cohen from Pinnacle Financial Services explains how his company can lend “hard money” to you so that you can move quickly, get out quickly, and get paid. You will learn:

  • Why should I borrow money from Pinnacle rather than from a bank?
  • What types of properties will you lend money on?
  • How do I qualify?
  • Do I have to apply for each property or just once?
  • What happens if I don’t sell the property in time?
  • If I am going to an auction this week, can you give me a certified check in time?

At the end of the call, send us any follow-up questions to membership@ctreia.com so that we can get them answered for you!

This is a members-only series of calls and webinars. If you are not yet a member, register for this event as a guest and you will automatically join CT REIA for a full 365 days.

It probably seems insignificant to you in scope and size, but for me, having you there confirmed some things for me and gave me ideas on others, and most important that I can do this one unit or property at a time (and multiple at a time in the future). The personal help you both provided is what I cannot get out of any tapes or books. Thank you again.”Diane – Team Coaching Student
